Lift Your Eyes - A Creation Hymn
Part 1

God laid the foundations of the earth;
The heavens are the work of His hands.
Created by God, He called them forth;
He set His handprints on every land.

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens
The Lord created all of these.
He marked out the great horizon.
He set the boundaries of the seas.

God made the heavens and the earth
The earth was empty and formless.
His Spirit swept over the waters
The surface deep was darkness.

And God said, “Let there be light.”
He made it separate from darkness.
The light He called day and darkness night
He made all by His goodness.

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens
The Lord created all of these.
He marked out the great horizon.
He set the boundaries of the seas.

God made an expanse between the waters
To make the clouds separate from waters below.
The space He called sky, the heavens were formed.
These mighty wonders made by His Word.

Below the sky God set in place
The waters gathered and He called them seas.
He set dry ground in its own space.
God simply spoke it, and it came to be.

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens
The Lord created all of these.
He marked out the great horizon.
He set the boundaries of the seas.
